“Reverie;” French expression meaning ‘daydream’ or ‘state of being pleasantly lost in one’s thoughts’. Our vision for the House of Music is to evoke a feeling of reverie and explore the personalities and oeuvre of Hungarian musical traditions. This proposal is not about “branding.” Rather, we propose to create an uplifting interactive experience deeply rooted in the world of sounds. The focus of this experience is a mixed profile of exhibits showcasing objects of musical heritage, and organized to encourage interactive social activity that is fun and educational.
The House of Music will support special installations to create and feel sounds, inspired by the origins of music, through Hungarian folk traditions to the physiology of more structurally complex modern musical compositions. It is our belief that a focus on visitor experience will identify the House not only as a playful and interactive museum but also at a new kind of learning facility for the 21st century.
